Montad Chuame

Thai Candied Cassava

Sweet Passion
This is a most authentic Thai dessert that so simple to do yet so delicious. Basically only few ingredients needed for this simple recipes. A good montad chuame should have cassava that gives a good sticky, chewy bite, tastes sweet all through, and the coconut milk should be fresh, thick and fragrant. I did a slight twist of the recipes in order to suit my taste bud better. Instead of castor sugar I decided to use rock sugar, vanilla beans to bring out the full fragrant and some sea salt to balance the sweetness with saltiness. Tastefully done and amazingly delicious.

Purple Ondeh Ondeh

Sweet Potato Ondeh-Ondeh

Sweet Passion
Onde-Onde is one of the traditional kuih in Malaysia. They are either made from pandan "screwpine leaf" juice, sweet potato or glutinous rice flour. This recipe I mainly using the Vietnamese purple sweet potato as my key ingredients and "Gula Melaka" or palm sugar and rolled in with some fresh grated sea salt coconut. The coconut plam sugar filling that's in it literally bursts in your mouth with sweet and salty taste when you take a bite. Beautiful, tasty and delicious.

Taro Yam / OrhNee 芋泥

Sweet silky creamier taro

Sweet Passion
My first time trying the lovely Orh Nee (芋泥) Teochew style dessert. Basically the original OrhNee/芋泥 recipes are made of taro, pork lard, fried shallots, ginko nuts and coconut milk. I revamped the recipe from original version to modern, instead of pork lard I use olive oil and cutting down the coconut milk and replaced it with whipping cream. Tastes sweet, creamier, silky smooth melt in mouth texture and richer. Garnish the OrhNee with fresh sweet pumpkin paste and flower. DELICIOUS!

Sea Coconut Sago Pudding

Sea coconut and sago pudding are perfected with gula melaka.

Sweet Passion

This is a traditional sago pudding dessert that is served chilled and is great after a spicy meal. Make this dessert a true delight, rich and popular.
